Airbus (Airbus) (AIR.PA) said on Monday it would acquire a majority stake in Canada's transportation equipment maker Bombardier (BBDb.TO) C series passenger aircraft business.
Airbus said it will acquire 50.01% stake in Bombardier C Series (CSALP); CSALP's business includes aircraft manufacturing and sales.
After the deal is completed, Bombardier will hold about 31% stake, Quebec Government Investment Agency will have a 19% stake.
The deal also allowed Airbus to obtain an equity subscription, which could buy up to 100 million Bombardier B shares, the two companies said.
The two companies said on Monday that Airbus will provide procurement, marketing and customer support for CSALP.
The two sides said that any partner no cash contribution, CSALP will not bear any debt.
