US President Trump hopes the new chairman of the Fed will meet Yelun on Thursday

According to a source, US President Trump will meet with the US Federal Reserve Board (Federal Reserve / FED) Chairman Yelun on Thursday as one of the steps he is looking for as a candidate for the new Fed chairman.

On Thursday, a White House official said Trump had met with Stanford University economist John Taylor.

The current list of candidates includes Jerome Powell, former Federal Reserve director Kevin Warsh, White House National Economic Council director Gary Cohn and Ye Lun, the source said. Ye Lun's term will end in February next year.

White House chief of staff Kelly said Trump was determined by the Federal Reserve Chairman and "for some time".

Kelly told reporters: "There are some ... interview in progress; all candidates to enter the interview is only in the first round of primary elections, there will be more interviews.
