Dutch newspaper Het Financieele Dagblad reported on Tuesday that the country's central bank will set up cyber security experts and hacking groups to attack its own financial infrastructure to test and enhance its defensive performance.
In an interview with Petra Hielkema, head of payments and infrastructure at the central bank, the central bank said the newly formed team will conduct a clandestine attack on banks, markets and clearing houses.
According to reports, the Dutch central bank will announce the basic rules of the plan later on Tuesday.
