British media: China's influence in Zimbabwe how much?

Alex Bawins, head of Africa at Royal Institute for International Studies published on the BBC website on November 20, said Zimbabwe needs a stable and responsible government - and then from Asia, the Americas and Europe Investors really think Zimbabwe's investment climate will be better in the future.

 

The article said that after the Zimbabwean military seized power, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said that Zimbabwe's military leaders' previous visits to Beijing were "normal military exchanges agreed upon between the two sides."



 

The Chinese side said that it is closely following the developments. Because China has invested heavily in Zimbabwe, everything from agriculture to construction is all-encompassing. But the reality is that Zimbabwe is the human-based partner - China is its biggest export market and has much-needed support for its fragile economy.
