Lu Wei, former vice minister of the Central Propaganda Department, was arrested

The website of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of China announced on the evening of Tuesday night that Lu Wei, former vice minister of the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee, is seriously suspected of violating discipline and is currently undergoing organizational scrutiny.

Information from the Chinese Communist Party News Network shows that Lu Wei was born in January 1960, a senior reporter. From May 2004 to March 2011, he served as vice president and party member of Xinhua News Agency, served successively as Secretary General, Director of Economic Information Editorial Department, Chairman and General Manager of CES Holding, Director of Financial Information Exchange, China Financial Information Building Co., Ltd. Chairman and other positions.

Lu Wei From March 2011 to April 2013, he served as the Beijing Municipal Committee, Propaganda Department, vice mayor of Beijing; April 2013 to May 2014 as the director of the State Internet Information Office and the Central Public Outreach Office, the State Council Information Office Deputy Director; May 2014, Vice Minister of the Central Propaganda Department, Director of the Office of the Leading Group for Central Network Security and Informatization, Director of the State Internet Information Office; Deputy Director of Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee since June 2016.
