The iPhone market fell in the quarter to October - research firm Kantar

Data from a research company released on Tuesday showed that iPhone X had no sales figures for the three months to October, causing the market for Apple (AAPL.O) iPhone to fall in some key regions; meanwhile, Android phones recorded higher Sales.

According to Kantar Worldpanel ComTech, according to sales of iOS mobile operating system, iPhone's market share in the United States slipped to 32.9% from 40.6% a year ago.

Kantar said in its October quarterly smartphone operating system sales analysis that iOS has seen its market share decline in key Japanese and European markets and that Android's share of most markets grow.

The iPhone X was released in early November, more than a month after the iPhone 8 was released on September 22.

"Apple's decline in market share is somewhat inevitable, and we have a full-month sales comparison that compares the sales of the non-flagship iPhone 8 with the 2016 flagship model iPhone 7," said Dominic Sunnebo, Kantar's global head of business Said.
