Toyota will continue to produce all types of cars for its customers, even though increasingly stringent regulations around the world have prompted automakers to develop more electric vehicles, Toyota's head of Toyota (7203.T) said on Tuesday.

"The current electric car is the focus, but the customer and the market will eventually decide what type of power transmission system will win," he said in the new sports car promotion activities.

"Toyota will continue to focus on the use of hybrid technology powertrain, including fuel cell vehicles, plug-in hybrids and we enter the time a little late pure electric vehicles."

He also said that Toyota did not consider the field of purely focused electric vehicles.
